Today, the world of the cults is more and more expanding. There are so many people who turned into life gurus or people who are promoting their cultic philosophy in order to entice people to join their group. The question is, how can cults be very successful, despite of the things they do that can be really strange? In this article, the possible suggestions will be discussed on why some people are encouraged to join the cults. Since cult is religious group that denies the teachings of the bible and Christianity, their way to get people is to their personal lives.
The way to do this recruitment is that they invite those people who have no or little knowledge of the teaching of the Bible. They invite these people Bible studies, usually in-home Bible studies wherein they usually tamper and distort the real teaching of the bible. They do a little twisting just to promote their principle s and beliefs by also promoting their religious leader.
Basically, those who have little or no knowledge about the teachings of the Bible are most likely potential to be one of the targets of these cults for them to recruit. If cultist founds out that one person is a firm believer in the teachings of the Bible, then the cultist disregard even trying to recruit one.
Life transitions make a potential time for cults to recruit the people who are experiencing this. Divorce, marriage, a new job, a death in the family, attending college for the first time are some of the big life transitions that may make us feel confused. At this point in time, we will feel so unstable in life and that we will need to resort to something that will make it stable somehow. In our life transitions also, we tend to be more vulnerable. And so, the cultist takes this opportunity to focus in the personal lives of these individuals to entice to join the cult.
Since a person is very vulnerable at this struggling time, the cultist makes a move to entice this person. Once the cultist sees that the person becomes interested and dependent on his counsel, then the cultist takes this opportunity to involve one to the cult. What cultist will do the cult mentality that the person has no opportunity to react or question because the cultist keeps him or her busy doing the given cult duties.
